Skincare cosmetics - Are they Useful or Harmful?

Let's face it luxers, we all love skincare cosmetics. It's instilled in most of us as women. But have you ever wondered if skincare cosmetics are actually useful or harmful? It's a pretty complicated situation, isn't it? What we love so much and have been using it in our daily lives might actually harm us in return. Wouldn't you want to keep yourself educated on your well being? Well, today we will be taking a deeper dive into this topic, and hopefully, you will be leaving here with something that you never knew.

Having a radiant and salubrious skin is a big confidence booster for many of us. There are some really fortunate people around the world that are naturally beautiful. Hence they do not require the use of any skincare cosmetics. Then there are others, who don't really care about how they look or feel and some even, too lazy to use any sort of skincare products. Some of these people also think that skincare cosmetic can harm their skin and hence abandon the use of any kind of skincare cosmetics. With that being said, there are still a large number of people who do use skincare cosmetics, and that's why to date, the skincare business industry is still prospering.

So, is skincare cosmetic useful, or is it harmful? Well, the opinions seem divided. Looking gorgeous and beautiful is surely nice and extremely desirable. Unfortunately, too much skincare cosmetic can be harmful. Any excess of anything is harmful by the way. So what do you do?

First of all, one should formulate and stick on to a skincare routine that will keep your skin healthy and disease-free. What we recommend here at Lux On Demand is to cleanse and moisturize your face at least twice a day. Also, do remember to tone and exfoliate occasionally as and when you deem necessary.

Secondly would be the type of skincare cosmetics that you will be using additionally as beauty enhancers. These skincare cosmetics could either be part of your skincare routine or they could be applied only on special occasions.

One of the most critical concerns with skincare cosmetic is its selection. Fortunately here at Lux On Demand we've prepared a set of rules that you should use when selecting any skincare cosmetic:

  1. Using products that suit your skin type is the general rule of thumb. This is valid for both the daily routine and skincare cosmetics products. Thus, do remember to check the label to see what are the recommendations for it. If not, you can always engage with the sales assistance, they will definitely be glad to help out.
  2. Do not overdo it. More does not equal to better. Make sure that you apply the products in the right amount, not much and not too little. Likewise, be gentle with your skin and adhere to the proper procedures for the application when it comes to skincare products. Rubbing too hard or attempting to squeeze out a pimple will lead to permanent damage to your skin.
  3. This one will be pretty important and many of us tend not to do it. Testing the skincare product before purchasing it. You can do so by applying the skincare product on a small area of your skin and check the reaction of your skin to the product. This is crucial as some of us might have allergies to certain ingredients in the product and may not react well to it. So, always remember to test it out first before making any other decision.
  4. Next up will be the ingredients of the skincare cosmetic product. Remember to check it for any chemicals that you might be allergic to. Avoid using products that are harsh on the skin. For example, products with high alcohol concentrations (except for hand sanitizers, do remember to use them and keep everyone around you safe during this period!). These products might work out in the short term but it does more harm than good in the long-term.
  5. Lastly, if you have any type of skin disorder e.g eczema, acne, hives, vitiligo, psoriasis, etc, please consult your dermatologist before using any type of skincare cosmetic products.
