Today's topic will be a little different. We have noticed that most of you luxers are beautiful ladies. However, there are also a significant amount of fabulous guys that are on here from time to time. Fret not, we did not miss you guys out! Today we're here to talk about men's skincare! Ladies, you know what to do, show this article to your male friends, boyfriend, or husband so that they can benefit from it. So let's get right into it, man skincare would seem like an alien topic to some men as most of them do not have a skincare routine, but the ones that do, they are the ones out there stealing girl's hearts ;). It would have been even more alienated a couple of years back.
Fortunately, more and more men now realize the importance of man skincare. Hence you see markets flushed with man skincare products too. Even though the male skin is very different from that of a female, but the skincare aspect of both is very similar.
Let me further elaborate that the men skincare starts with cleansing too. Water-soluble cleansers are preferred. What is the purpose of cleansing, you may ask? Well, cleansing helps remove the dirt, grease, and pollutants from the skin and helps in preventing pore-clogging. The inherent oily nature of male skin makes cleansing a vital part of man skin care procedure. Cleansing should be done at least once every day, even better if it is done twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. Using soap on the face is highly discouraged, get a cleanser!
The men skincare revolves quite a lot around shaving. The types of shaving foam, gel, cream, and aftershave lotion are some of the most important men skincare products. Serious man skincare requires a proper and decent selection of shaving related equipment and products. One of the primary considerations in choosing shaving products should be the skin type because the degree of oiliness differs from person to person. Not to mention, alcohol-based aftershaves should be avoided.
Proper men skincare also mandates the use of good quality razors. Here at Lux On Demand education, we highly recommend swivel-head blades because they are known to reduce cuts. Besides these products and equipment, it is also necessary that you use them properly. Be gentle when using your razor. Do not scratch it against your skin; use a soft and smooth action. It's all about removing hair, not your skin, gentlemen.
Most you might not know this, but the male skin is generally oilier and thicker owing to larger pores and more active sebaceous glands. Hence, due to regular shaving, the skin can get dehydrated pretty quickly. Therefore, moisturizers too form an integral part of man skincare. Moisturizing serum, gel or cream should be applied after shaving. As a matter of fact, some shaving foams or gel have an in-built moisturizing effect too, but you should not depend on that as your only moisturizer because that only covers the bottom half of your face instead of the full face. Moisturizers should be patted gently over the face and massaged gently using strokes upward. A pro tip from us; apply moisturizer on your neck too! You will see the difference in time to come.
Most gentlemen spend their time outdoors when traveling to work, partying at the beach, and even driving. All these constitute exposure to the sun's UV radiation. Although men's skin is less susceptible to skin cancer caused by UV radiation, using sunscreen is also an important men's skincare measure. You can use a moisturizer that combines sunscreen with the moisturizing effect.
Not to mention, a good option for men skincare is to use products that have natural ingredients like aloe vera, sea salt, and coconut, etc. Naturally, antiseptic oils e.g., lavender, tea tree, etc also provide excellent means for man skincare.
Men's skincare is not as tricky as a lot of men think. All it takes is a couple of minutes every day, and in return, it will bless you with healthy skin for the present and the future.
